Blue lights dangers

 Visible Light

You all may know that Visible Light is made up of different wavelengths of different ranges. One of them is blue light which has the highest energy.

You may also know that white light is made up of seven different colours respectively Violet, Indigo, Blue, Green, Orange, Yellow and Red.

Among them, Blue light has the shortest wavelength between 450 to 490 nanometers.

Blue Light

As I said above, Blue light has a shorter wavelength but more energy and due to this many researchers and scientists believe that blue light has some negative effects on your eyes and overall health.

Blue-Light Dangers

Blue light passes through, the cornea and lens and ultimately reach the retina and this can affect your vision. Excessive exposure to blue light can lead to the following problems:

  Macular degeneration:

Exposure to blue light can increase the risk of Macular Degeneration. Macular Degeneration is an eye disorder that causes blurred and reduced central vision due to the thinning of the macula ( part of the retina which is responsible for clear vision).

  Digital Eyestrain:

Exposure to blue light from the screens of computers, mobiles and laptops can cause Digital Eyestrain (Blurry vision and eye discomfort caused by prolonged use of mobile or computer screens).

According to different studies, blue light can increase the risk of breast and colorectal cancers. Excessive exposure to blue light can cause harm to your mental health. Other than these, blue light can also result in poor sleep.
